What to expect during your in-office procedure
At carafem, we offer a gentle, in-office abortion procedure called aspiration abortion (MVA) — available at our health centers in Atlanta, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
Here’s what to expect:
Before your procedure:
You’ll meet with a licensed provider in a private, comfortable room.
We’ll review your medical history and perform a quick ultrasound.

During the procedure:
You’ll receive numbing medication for your cervix and a non-opioid pain reliever.
