As a trusted national provider of reproductive healthcare, our clinical practices follow the highest standards of care and are approved by the National Abortion Federation’s Board of Directors and medical experts.

We’re building a future where every person can access the personalized abortion care they need—with dignity, respect, and support.

carafem is ushering in a new era of abortion care in the US.

carafem, was co-founded in 2013 to fill a gap in U.S. reproductive healthcare by providing client-centered, innovative, tech-forward abortion and sexual health options. The organization started with one health center in Chevy Chase, Maryland and have since served over 120,000 people with high-quality, affordable, supportive care in three health centers and via telehealth in 19 states. Today, our medically-supported at-home abortion care is the option of choice for 85% of clients.

Great abortion care for every body.

At carafem, we believe all healthcare should be easy to understand, access, and tailored to you and your needs. The need for an abortion cuts across racial, ethnic, and geographical identifiers. In fact, one in four people who are able to get pregnant in the United States will have an abortion in their reproductive lifetime.

We strive to provide a medical experience that celebrates all aspects of your identity, including your sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, immigration status, socioeconomic background, dis/ability and age. We are focused on increasing access to care for underserved populations—including people with incomes below the federal poverty line and those who live in rural areas with fewer options for care.
